About the MFS150AWETCUL
The Tohatsu MFS150AWETCUL is the newest addition to Tohatsu’s high-power lineup, bringing class-leading power-to-weight performance to the port side of twin-engine rigs at a weight of just 403.4 lbs. Built on the proven MFS140A platform and now producing 150 horsepower, this Tohatsu 150 HP outboard combines the brand’s hallmark Japanese engineering with bold new styling, dynamic 3D side decals, a sporty rear cowl, and the timeless Beluga White finish that pairs cleanly with virtually any hull color.
At the heart of the MFS150AWETCUL is a 1,995 cc four-cylinder SOHC-4V powerhead built around Tohatsu’s Simpliq™ Technology, with spark plugs centered in each combustion chamber for optimal heat conduction, complete combustion, and excellent fuel economy. A newly installed knock sensor continuously monitors combustion and feeds data to the ECU to fine-tune ignition timing — the reason the MFS150A delivers best-in-class fuel economy at 2,000 RPM. A resin intake manifold drops weight without sacrificing airflow, and the industry-exclusive 4-2-1 Performance Tuned Exhaust manifold equalizes runner length to maximize low-end torque, get boats on plane faster, and deliver confident hole shots.
Designed as a counter-rotation model, the MFS150AWETCUL is built specifically for twin-engine applications, where pairing it with a standard-rotation MFS150A eliminates steering torque, improves stability, and sharpens low-speed handling around docks and inlets. The 25″ ultra-long shaft suits offshore center consoles, walkarounds, and bay boats with taller transoms, while the 2.08:1 gear ratio combines strong low-end pull with confident top-end performance. A high-output 41-amp alternator keeps electronics, livewells, and accessories charged on long offshore runs.
Compatibility with remote steering and integrated power trim and tilt makes rigging straightforward, and the engine works seamlessly with Tohatsu’s optional TOCS 4.3-inch LCD display for real-time engine data, fault codes, and trim information over the CAN bus. Durability features run deep: Sheet Molding Compound cowlings, anodized aluminum components, more than 16 sacrificial anodes, a stainless-steel water pump housing liner, and a built-in freshwater flushing system protect the powerhead from saltwater corrosion year-round in Florida and along the East
Coast. Through-the-prop exhaust and a redesigned idle port deliver some of the quietest operation in the class, while variable idle speed control across five RPM settings dials in trolling speeds for any conditions.
For boaters repowering a twin-outboard offshore platform or rigging a new build, the Tohatsu MFS150AWETCUL delivers the lightweight responsiveness, fuel efficiency, and saltwater-ready reliability Tohatsu has been known for since 1956.
